The Adamawa Youth, led by Comrade Danladi Jonah, have declared their intention to hold a peaceful protest from August 1st to August 10th, in response to increasing economic hardship and what they describe as the government’s indifference to their plight.

The protest aims to draw attention to issues such as bad governance, high living costs, and unemployment. Jonah emphasized that peaceful protest and voting are their strongest weapons, urging the government to heed their grievances before the situation worsens.

Quoting Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Jonah stated, “The children of the poor that you fail to train, will never let your children live in peace,” highlighting the consequences of neglecting the needs of the populace. He encouraged citizens to participate in the protest lawfully, stressing the importance of expressing their discontent peacefully. Jonah also called on security agencies to protect the demonstrators and ensure public safety.
