INEC National Commissioner Rhoda Gumus, in charge of the Edo State gubernatorial election, has vowed to reject any bribe offered to rig the election. Speaking during an interview with Channels TV, Mrs. Gumus made it clear that she would never compromise her integrity, stating, “I cannot take bribes no matter how much.”

She further emphasized her commitment to a transparent electoral process, saying, “Nobody will try me; I will not allow it.” According to her, constant communication with Electoral Officers on the ground has been her way of ensuring that the election remains credible.

Gumus reassured the public that she is actively overseeing the proceedings, making necessary corrections when required, to guarantee that the election is conducted freely and fairly. She confidently stated that her well-known reputation would deter anyone from attempting to offer her a bribe.
