Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, has urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to fully eliminate fuel subsidies. In a recent statement, Dangote emphasized that continuing these subsidies distorts market dynamics and drains government resources that could be better utilized in sectors like education, health, and infrastructure. He noted, “Ending subsidies is crucial for long-term growth and economic sustainability.”
With fuel subsidies often criticized for promoting inefficiencies and corruption, Dangote’s call reflects the growing demand for economic reform. He also highlighted that reducing reliance on these subsidies could boost investment in alternative energy sources, contributing to both energy security and environmental sustainability.
