In his 64th Independence Anniversary speech, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emphasized unity and progress, honoring Nigeria’s founding fathers. He acknowledged citizens’ struggles with rising living costs and unemployment, assuring them that their concerns are heard: “We are committed to finding sustainable solutions to alleviate the suffering of our citizens.”

Reflecting on Nigeria’s journey, he noted the resilience shown through crises and stressed the importance of learning from past mistakes: “If we are to become one of the greatest nations on earth, our mistakes must not be allowed to follow us into the future.” Tinubu highlighted security achievements, claiming significant progress against terrorism and banditry, with over 300 commanders eliminated.

He expressed optimism about restoring peace to boost agriculture and lower food prices. He announced upcoming reforms, including the Economic Stabilisation Bills to enhance the business environment and job creation initiatives for youth. “We will forge a path toward a brighter future with your support,” he urged, encouraging belief in Nigeria’s potential.

The address concluded with a call for collective effort in nation-building and a commitment to a brighter future for all Nigerians.
