Former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has expressed his frustration over the lack of public outcry amidst Nigeria’s severe economic difficulties. In an interview with ABN TV, he remarked, “I’m angry with the citizens… The people should be angry.
There should be protests… The rate of hunger now… you can imagine what is happening to those who do not have children like us.” Amaechi noted that even he struggles to afford diesel and questioned why the youth have not taken to the streets to voice their grievances.
In response, human rights activist Omoyele Sowore criticized Amaechi, stating that the very leaders who have contributed to Nigeria’s decline now expect youth to incite change. Sowore emphasized that those who create problems should not turn to the young generation for solutions, suggesting that the only way forward is through revolution.
