Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has forecast a significant hunger revolt against President Bola Tinubu’s government due to escalating economic hardships. In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele indicated that the situation will worsen in 2025, predicting an “economic blackout” that could provoke public unrest.

He criticized the government’s failure to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians, stating, “The price of every commodity… will continue to be expensive.” Ayodele warned that unless the government takes decisive action, citizens may face dire consequences, including skyrocketing food prices—potentially “N150,000 for rice and more than N200,000 for beans.”

He lamented that “people are suffering” and emphasized the urgency for the government to address the ongoing economic crisis, asserting that the hardships will be “three times harder” next year if no corrective measures are implemented.
