Nigeria’s power grid has collapsed twice in less than 24 hours, causing widespread blackouts. The first outage occurred Monday evening, disrupting domestic and business activities. Despite substantial investment in the power sector, reliable electricity remains a significant issue.

On Tuesday at 09:17 AM, the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) reported another collapse, leading to a complete power loss in its network. They stated, “We are currently working with our partners as we hope for speedy restoration of the grid.”

Similarly, Ikeja Electric confirmed the outage and assured customers that restoration efforts were ongoing. Following the initial collapse, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) managed to restore power to some areas but acknowledged that the issues stemmed from national grid failures.
