Ukraine has denied allegations of supplying drones to Tuareg separatists in Mali, calling the claims “baseless” and part of a disinformation campaign. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated, “We strongly reject the accusations… about the alleged involvement of our state in the supply of UAVs.”

This response follows a Le Monde report suggesting support from Kyiv, which Ukraine attributes to efforts to undermine its credibility amid its ongoing conflict with Russia. The ministry expressed disappointment over the severed diplomatic ties with Mali and Niger and emphasized that Ukraine does not contribute to military equipment flows into the Sahel region.

Furthermore, Ukraine urged the international community to avoid spreading “false information” that aligns with Russian narratives. The Tuareg separatists, who recently claimed to have killed numerous Russian Wagner mercenaries, also denied receiving external assistance, reiterating their independence in the conflict.
