Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has called on Nigerians to pay their taxes, emphasizing that government revenue is crucial for providing essential services. At the Abuja Business and Investment Summit, he stated, “The idea that the government doesn’t need money is misguided,” underscoring the importance of taxation as the government plans to introduce a 25% tax rate on individuals earning ₦100 million or more monthly.

Wike highlighted the need for sustainable investment, noting that the government cannot continue funding partnerships without guaranteed returns. Drawing from his experience as the former Governor of Rivers State, he reinforced that revenue generation is vital for public services and mutual benefits for investors. As the FCT Minister, Wike is committed to promoting investment opportunities through collaboration.
