Our yearly recognition ritual, AfricaWorld man of the year, caps the headline for the last edition of 2022. In the light of leadership and progress, we have chosen one who is walking on these paths.

Narendra Modi, the India prime minister.
Indeed, History was made in Rashtrapati Bhawan on the 26th May 2014 as Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge of India via a historic mandate. The new leader oozes refreshing hope and perhaps the Indian Hope. As a country of over a billion people, India looked up to PM Modi as the desired new driver that can navigate them through the internal and external terrain into a global influencer.

NATIVITY Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi was born in the town of Vadnagar in Mehsana district of Gujarat, on September 17, 1950 to Damodardas Mulchand Modi and Heeraben Modi. He was the third among six children.
Todays achievement did not come on a platter of gold as Narendra Modi completed his studies with difficulty as he ran a tea shop with his brother while in teenage years around the Ahmedabad railway station.

EDUCATION Narendra Modi studied and earned a master’s degree in Political Science from Gujarat University. Associates during his school days, including his teachers, described him as an excellent debater.
He joined the local branch of the RSS at the age of eight. As soon as he joined the pro-Hindu Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organization, his abilities began to be noticed. He set up a unit of the RSS’s students’ wing, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, in his area. From then on, Narendra Modi rose steadily in the RSS hierarchy, and now, driving partly the organization philosophy on the global stage and new India.

Africa/India Under Narendra Modi, the two traditional partner became more substantial in their engagements. India as a leading global emerging economy need to meet up with the political and economic resurgence of Africa.
So far, there has been an exponential growth in trade, investments and Development Partnership. The India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS) is an efficient platform for all the 54 African countries in the continent. Benefit for the Indian Entrepreneurs have been massive. Many are already big investors in Africa essential commodities.
The agreement is not only good for Africa: Concomitantly, it will provide a unified continental market that Indian firms can easily access and tap into—potentially increasing the scope and level of India’s engagement with Africa
During the last COVID-19 pandemic, PM Modi showed Africa why India should be their reliable partner. The Brookings institution opined that there will be mutual benefit from India’s foreign direct investment (FDI) while the African continent, through the AfCFTA – African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), ensure accessibility. India are positioned better by Modi both internally and externally. Under Modi, India is now becoming more confident on the global stage. Leading over a billion population and largest democracy in the world is not easy, but the influential and steadily rise of India in the world says more on Narendra Modi.
