Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has renamed the state’s International Passenger and Cargo Airport after the late Chinua Achebe, a renowned novelist. This decision was made to honor Achebe’s significant contributions to African literature and his impact on human civilization. Achebe, originally from Ogidi in Anambra State, passed away in 2013 at the age of 82 in Boston, Massachusetts. Governor Soludo emphasized Achebe’s role in giving African literature a voice and identity, not only in Nigeria but on a global scale. He also expressed the importance of recognizing and celebrating unsung heroes as a source of motivation for the youth. #OMAGIST@AFRICAWORLDNEWS*
