Timipre Sylva, the APC candidate, secured victory in Brass LGA as the Bayelsa State governorship election’s result collation resumed. Governor Douye Diri of the PDP leads in five of eight LGAs, while Sylva has won two. The final outcome depends on Southern Ijaw’s results. Protests erupted on Sunday, alleging voter intimidation and irregularities. The state Returning Officer, Prof Faruq Kuta, is expected to declare the winner today. In Imo and Kogi states, APC candidates Hope Uzodimma and Usman Ododo won the governorship polls.
