ASUU has joined the nationwide strike declared by NLC and TUC, showing solidarity with labor movements. Despite a court order, ASUU decided to participate, citing concerns over socio-economic crises in Nigeria, including rising living costs and Naira devaluation. The union emphasized unmet demands such as university revitalization, autonomy, removal from IPPIS, and NUC Act amendment. ASUU also condemned the dissolution of university councils, the directive on IGF remittance, and the attack on NLC President Joe Ajaero. Despite partial salary releases, ASUU calls for unconditional release of all withheld salaries and a permanent resolution of outstanding issues.
