The Nigerian Law School has implemented a five-year suspension on the Faculty of Law at Datti Ahmed’s Baze University.

This action comes after the Council of Legal Education’s investigation revealed a backlog of over 347 law students awaiting admission to the Nigerian Law School from the university’s Law Faculty. Baze University offers a three-year LL.B program to certain UTME candidates without the necessary approvals from the National Universities Commission (NUC), Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), and Council of Legal Education.According to the NUC Minimum Benchmark Academic Standard (BMAS) for law degree programs in Nigerian Universities, the standard duration for a law degree is five years for UTME candidates and four years for Direct Entry students.
