Unknown assailants abducted Reverend Father Kingsley Eze, also known as Father Ichie, from St Michael’s Catholic Church Parish in Umuekebi, Osuoweerre.

Alongside him, Uchenna Newman, who was driving the priest, was also taken at Orieama junction around 8 pm by gunmen on motorcycles. The incident has left the local community deeply unsettled. The alarming situation escalated further as the kidnappers not only targeted the priest and Newman but also robbed shops in the vicinity. Residents are calling for urgent governmental intervention due to the increasing insecurity, which has witnessed three kidnappings in the area within a short span.
