In recent events, there have been multiple attacks in the Red Sea involving an American warship and commercial vessels.
These incidents appear to stem from Yemen, with reports indicating drone activity and a possible explosion in the Bab al-Mandab strait, prompting caution among ships navigating that area.These attacks are occurring within the context of heightened tensions in the Middle East due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
There have been previous incidents, such as the seizure of an Israeli-linked cargo ship by Houthi militants. The Houthis, who are aligned with Iran and control significant parts of Yemen’s Red Sea coast, have previously launched ballistic missiles and armed drones towards Israel. They’ve also declared intentions to target more Israeli vessels, escalating the maritime tensions in the region.
