Russian opposition leader and prominent critic of President Vladimir Putin, Alexei Navalny, has tragically passed away at the age of 47 while in custody at an Arctic Circle jail.

Navalny, who was serving a 19-year jail term on widely disputed charges, reportedly fell ill after a walk and subsequently lost consciousness. Despite efforts by emergency medical teams, Navalny could not be revived.

His death raises questions and concerns about political motivations behind his imprisonment and treatment. Navalny’s demise adds to a string of mysterious deaths among Putin’s critics, sparking further scrutiny and international attention.
