The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s policies, stating they are exacerbating hardship for Nigerians.

The bishops highlighted increasing hunger, unemployment, insecurity, and soaring living costs. They denounced the withdrawal of fuel subsidies and the devaluation of the Naira, which have led to a spike in petroleum prices and inflation.

Moreover, they criticized the government’s handling of corruption, emphasizing the need for effective prosecution of corrupt officials. The bishops underscored the importance of security and urged the government to prioritize job creation for youths.
