Olayemi Cardoso, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), asserted at the 2024 First Plenary Assembly of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) that his role ranks as the second most challenging worldwide.

Amidst highlighting the efficacy of government reforms led by the Bola Tinubu administration, Cardoso expressed optimism regarding the nation’s economic future, foreseeing a moderation in the foreign exchange market.

He emphasized the necessity of sustaining a positive trajectory to overcome economic challenges and attract international investors, while also addressing the need for Nigeria to transition from a consumer nation mindset.
