The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has initiated a nationwide protest in Abuja today, February 27, 2024, against the soaring cost of living in the country.
The protest, which commenced at the Labour House Headquarters, witnessed a significant gathering of aggrieved citizens and workers from various unions, including the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria and the Nigeria Union of Teachers.
Despite security concerns, protesters wielded placards expressing their discontent with slogans such as “#End Poverty and Hunger” and “#Fix Local Refineries.” The protest aims to address the economic challenges faced by Nigerians amidst government promises yet unfulfilled.
