Suspected herdsmen militia launched a violent assault on members of the Benue State House of Assembly.
The attack occurred on Thursday night along the Makurdi/Gboko Road as the lawmakers were returning from a public hearing in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area. The Chairman of the House Committee on Information and Orientation, Hon Elias Audu, confirmed the incident, condemning the unwarranted attack.
The assault targeted prominent members, including Majority Leader Saater Tiseer and Chief Whip Hon Ipusu Bemdoo, raising concerns about the safety of public officials and the escalating violence in the region.
