With a nationwide strike imminent, the Nigerian government has urged the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) to reconsider their stance.

The strike, set to begin Monday, stems from stalled negotiations on a new minimum wage and rising electricity tariffs. Despite multiple discussions, no agreement has been reached, with labor leaders rejecting the government’s latest offer of N60,000, insisting on N615,000.

Key sectors, including oil, electricity, and finance, have committed to full participation, potentially leading to significant nationwide disruptions.
