Rescuers are urgently searching for dozens of miners trapped after a gold mine collapsed in the Shiroro district of Niger state, Nigeria, following heavy rains.

The collapse on Monday has left at least 30 people missing, though locals claim up to 44 might be trapped. The rescue effort faces significant challenges due to the depth of the pit and ongoing instability. Families of the trapped miners are urging the government for more resources to aid the rescue efforts.
