Organised Labour has strongly criticized state governors for rejecting the proposed N60,000 minimum wage.

The Nigeria Governors Forum claims the wage is unsustainable, but Labour insists governors who cannot pay should resign. Deputy National President of the Trade Union Congress, Tommy Etim, emphasized the need for the wage increase, accusing governors of misusing public funds.

The Nigerian Labour Congress also condemned the governors’ stance, highlighting increased federal allocations and calling for cuts in governance costs and corruption to fund the wage.
