In a letter to President Bola Tinubu, Edwin Clark, leader of the Ijaw Nation, accused Tinubu of perpetuating former President Muhammadu Buhari’s policies that marginalized the Igbos of South-Eastern Nigeria.

Clark highlighted that Buhari excluded the Southeast from critical appointments, including the Board of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation and high-level security positions. He pointed out that Tinubu’s administration has similarly shown favoritism by appointing ten ministers from the Southwest and only five from the Southeast.

Clark urged immediate restructuring of the country and implementation of the 2014 National Conference Report’s 600 recommendations to address these injustices and ensure Nigeria’s unity.
