Usman Yusuf, former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, has criticized President Bola Tinubu for leveraging the June 12 celebrations to distract from his administration’s shortcomings after one year in office.
In an interview with ARISE TV, Yusuf argued that while Nigeria commemorates 25 years of uninterrupted democracy, the nation is suffering from severe hunger and economic hardship. He urged Tinubu to address the pressing needs of Nigerians, emphasizing that the current state of democracy fails to meet the basic needs of the populace.
