At a G7 summit in Italy, President Joe Biden announced he would not pardon his son, Hunter Biden, following his conviction on federal gun charges.

Hunter, 54, was convicted on three felony counts related to acquiring a handgun in 2018 during his crack cocaine addiction. Despite facing up to 25 years in prison, significant jail time is unlikely due to his first-time offender status. President Biden emphasized his respect for the judicial process and commitment to upholding the law, even as he campaigns for re-election amid legal issues faced by his political rival, Donald Trump.
