Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), a ranking Democrat on the House Homeland Security Committee, has introduced the DISGRACED Act.

This proposed legislation aims to remove Secret Service protection from former President Donald Trump if he is sentenced to prison. Trump was recently found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to hush money payments.

The bill addresses the potential logistical and security challenges posed by Secret Service protection for a jailed former president. The Secret Service stated that their protective measures would remain unchanged regardless of the case outcome.
