Stanley Okoruwa, a blogger who accused businessman E-Money of having an affair with the wife of late actor Junior Pope, has confessed to fabricating the story to gain online followers.
Okoruwa’s video, posted shortly after Pope’s death in April, also implied E-Money’s involvement in the actor’s demise. E-Money has announced plans to sue for defamation.
Arrested last week and presented to the media on Monday, Okoruwa admitted his motives were to increase his social media popularity, expressing regret and apologizing to E-Money. Lagos state police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that Okoruwa will be prosecuted for cyberbullying and defamation.
