The Federal Government, through the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), has scheduled an urgent meeting of the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage for tomorrow at 10 AM.

The previous meeting on May 31 ended abruptly when the Organized Labour negotiating team walked out due to the government’s and the Organized Private Sector’s (OPS) refusal to exceed their offer of N60,000.

This meeting follows widespread compliance and participation by workers in the first day of an indefinite nationwide strike. A resolution tomorrow could potentially lead to the suspension of the strike.
