Qatar has turned down President Bola Tinubu’s request to visit for a business and investment forum.
The rejection is due to the absence of a binding agreement between Qatar and Nigeria for investment promotion and the unavailability of Qatar’s commerce minister during Tinubu’s proposed visit dates.
Qatar’s hosting of a web summit at the same time adds to the scheduling conflicts. This refusal suggests Qatar’s reluctance to forge economic ties with Nigeria.
