Germany has declared it will not be intimidated by Russia following reports of a plot to assassinate Armin Papperger, CEO of arms manufacturer Rheinmetall.

U.S. intelligence uncovered a Russian plan targeting Papperger due to his company’s support for Ukraine’s defense. Berlin is taking the threat seriously and has bolstered security measures. The Kremlin has dismissed the allegations as baseless, calling them a product of Russophobic hysteria.

This incident adds to a series of purported Russian assassination and sabotage attempts in Europe. Germany’s interior and justice ministers have vowed to protect the nation’s security and maintain its support for Ukraine, asserting that Russia’s tactics will not succeed in weakening German resolve.
