On Friday, Iran’s mission to the United Nations warned of a potential “obliterating war” if Israel launches a large-scale military operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

This follows recent attacks by the Israel Defence Forces on Hezbollah positions in response to missile strikes on northern Israel. Rising tensions along the Lebanese border have exacerbated the situation. Iran’s UN mission emphasized that “all options, including the complete engagement of all resistance fronts, remain on the table” if war erupts.

The conflict has already seen significant escalation, including an unprecedented Iranian missile and drone strike on Israel in April and ongoing attacks by Iran’s “Axis of Resistance.” Amid these threats, Israel has evacuated 60,000 residents from its northern region, anticipating possible further aggression from Hezbollah.
