Kenyan journalist Rukia Bulle has been announced as the winner of the 2024 BBC News Komla Dumor Award. Currently with Nation Media Group, Bulle is known for her compelling human interest stories and news features across Kenya. Her engaging content has also earned her a significant following on TikTok, where she shares insights into the life of a journalist.

As part of her award, Bulle will spend three months in London working with BBC News teams across television, radio, and online platforms. This opportunity will provide her with valuable experience and mentorship, helping to further enhance her journalism career.

The Komla Dumor Award, named after the late Ghanaian BBC presenter, honors outstanding African journalists who tell the continent’s stories with authenticity and depth. Bulle joins a prestigious group of past winners, including Waihiga Mwaura and Nancy Kacungira, who have since advanced to prominent roles within the global media landscape.
