The much-anticipated minimum wage negotiations between the Organised Labour and President Bola Tinubu ended inconclusively on Thursday, with both parties unable to reach an agreement.

Despite extended discussions, the Labour Congress held firm on a N250,000 minimum wage demand, while the Federal Government maintained its offer of N62,000.

Nigeria Labour Congress President Joe Ajaero confirmed that consultations with the Presidency would continue next week. Ajaero emphasized the importance of relaying the President’s discussions to their respective organizations before any further decisions can be made. The impasse highlights ongoing tensions and the significant divide in wage expectations.
