The Nigerian government, through Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, has accused Finland of supporting Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed leader of the Biafra Republic in Exile.

Speaking on a Channels Television broadcast for Nigeria’s 2024 Democracy Day, Musa emphasized the urgency of Ekpa’s arrest and prosecution for his alleged role in sponsoring violence in Nigeria’s Southeast. Musa called for diplomatic measures to ensure Ekpa is brought to justice, criticizing the European Union’s inaction despite its democratic principles.
