Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God recently addressed a misunderstanding surrounding his comments on tithing. Speaking at the October Holy Ghost Service, he emphasized that “10% should be the minimum” for believers, encouraging them to give more as their faith matures.

Adeboye clarified that he never advised Christians to stop paying tithes, stating, “It is wrong to limit yourself to 10%.” He also shared a personal testimony about how increasing one’s tithe can lead to financial blessings, reinforcing the idea that giving should be generous and reflective of one’s spiritual growth.

The controversy arose after his earlier remarks were taken out of context, prompting Adeboye to apologize for any confusion. He urged congregants to view tithing as a vital expression of faith rather than a mere obligation.
