Suspected bandits attacked two churches in Southern Kaduna, abducting a pastor and 30 others during Sunday morning services. The simultaneous attacks targeted a Catholic church and an ECWA church in Bakinpah-Maro, Kajuru Local Government Area. Three people were also reportedly killed.

Former Kajuru LGA Chairman, Cafra Caino, confirmed the attack, noting that the bandits arrived in large numbers and disrupted the worship services. This attack has further heightened concerns about insecurity in the region, which has affected farming activities and daily life. Despite community efforts to establish a security post, the region remains vulnerable.

The police have yet to issue an official statement on the incident, while security forces continue to search for the kidnapped victims. The attack occurred just days after a Nigerian Army operation successfully freed 13 kidnapped victims in Kachia LGA. Local leaders are now calling for stronger security measures to protect vulnerable communities across Kaduna State.
