Patrice Motsepe, the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has encouraged Nigeria to submit a bid to host the FIFA World Cup.

Motsepe disclosed this during a press conference in Abidjan, where he confirmed the attendance of Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 2023 AFCON final. Notably, Nigeria is set to face Ivory Coast in the final on Sunday, February 11. Motsepe plans to discuss the World Cup bid with President Tinubu during the event. If successful, Nigeria could become the first African nation to host the tournament since South Africa in 2010.
