WRITTEN BY: CHIOMA MADONNA NDUKWU In a recent report, Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Zulum expressed concern that the ongoing Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria’s North-East is posing a severe threat to the nation. He highlighted that the existence of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Borno State serves as a recruitment ground for Boko Haram and ISWAP, emphasizing the importance of preventing younger individuals from joining these extremist groups. Governor Zulum stressed the need to address the humanitarian crisis and close the IDP camps to prevent the further proliferation of these insurgent groups and protect Nigeria’s security.
