The Arewa Intelligentsia Caucus has challenged Aliko Dangote to address allegations that his refinery produces substandard petroleum products.

The group criticized Dangote’s alleged use of “propaganda” and “subterfuge” to manipulate public perception and gain sympathy, stating that “Dangote won’t find it easy to fool Nigerians again – taking into account his antecedents – which is replete with diabolical choke holds to asphyxiate, emasculate, and totally dominate every sector of the nation’s economy.”

They highlighted comments by petroleum engineer Engr. Farouk Ahmed, who claimed that the refinery’s products are “below required specifications and therefore substandard and inferior.” The group urged Nigerians to be cautious and not be swayed by what they described as Dangote’s “gimmicks,” adding, “We refused to be frightened and boxed in from speaking truth to Aliko Dangote.” They also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene at the appropriate time to resolve the ongoing issues between Dangote and the NNPCL.
