Nigeria has secured a position among the top 10 countries with the highest number of students in the United States, according to the recently published Open Doors Report by the Institute of International Education. Remarkably, Nigeria stands as the sole African country in this top-tier list, with a notable 22.2 percent increase in the number of its students studying in the US, reaching 17,640 in the 2022/23 academic year. This growth transpired despite challenges, such as the foreign exchange crisis, reflecting a robust academic exchange between Nigeria and the United States.
