Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s handling of the fuel subsidy crisis, leading to a viral trend on social media where Nigerians have taken to calling him “T-Pain.” In a tweet, Atiku expressed his concern over inflation and economic hardships, stating, “The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis.”

He further noted, “It is even more worrying that T-Pain is undisturbed by the hardship in the country.”This nickname has resonated widely, with many users on platforms like X (formerly Twitter) sharing their frustrations. For instance, one user remarked, “In T-Pain’s economy; we buy oranges the price we used to buy apples,” highlighting the soaring costs of living.

As the discourse continues, Nigerians are expressing their discontent with Tinubu’s leadership and the economic situation under his administration.
