The Director of Information for Supreme Court, Festus Akande, disclosed to PUNCH that the judgement pertaining to the appeal made by Peter Obi and Atiku to hold on Thursday, 26th of October, 2023. Atiku and Peter Obi have appealed to the Supreme Court, seeking to overturn the judgment of the presidential election tribunal that upheld President Bola Tinubu’s election. The Supreme Court is set to announce its judgment on these appeals. Previously, the court reserved judgment after hearing arguments from both parties, including a motion by the appellants to present fresh evidence. Atiku and the PDP filed the appeal, expressing dissatisfaction with the decision of the Presidential Election Petition Court that dismissed their petition against Tinubu’s election. The tribunal had also dismissed Peter Obi’s petition, deeming it “unmeritorious.”
