The Supreme Court has scheduled Monday, October 23, 2023, to hear appeals from the presidential candidates of the Labour Party and the People’s Democratic Party challenging President Tinubu’s election victory. The court will also address Atiku’s motion to present new evidence regarding Tinubu’s alleged forged certificate. A panel of seven justices will decide if the request is grantable. The academic records of Tinubu were obtained from Chicago State University in the United States and are central to this case. Other respondents in the case, including the APC and INEC, will argue relevant laws under the country’s Constitution and the Electoral Act 2022. The panel of justices includes Musa Dattijo Muhammad, Uwani Musa Abba Aji, Lawal Garba, Helen M. Ogunwumiju, I.N. Saulawa, Tijjani Abubakar, and Emmanuel Agim.
