The Nigerian Government has condemned the recent Israeli airstrike on civilians in Rafah, Gaza, which resulted in at least 50 deaths, including women and children, on May 26.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, described the attack as part of a troubling pattern of strikes on non-combatants in the Israel-Palestine conflict. Nigeria expressed deep concern for the safety and welfare of Gaza’s civilian population and called for a swift resolution and immediate cessation of violence. The conflict has seen significant casualties on both sides since its onset on October 7, following a Hamas attack on Israel.
