Veteran Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has been laid to rest in his hometown of Amuri, located in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Mr Ibu passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62 after a prolonged illness. His death marked the end of an era for one of Nigeria’s most beloved comic actors.

The Nigeria Actors Guild (AGN), in collaboration with Mr Ibu’s family, organized a series of events to honor his legacy and pay their final respects. These events culminated in a heartfelt funeral ceremony.

Videos that have surfaced online capture poignant moments from the funeral in Enugu. Friends, family members, and colleagues from the entertainment industry gathered to bid farewell to the late thespian. The emotional tributes highlighted Mr Ibu’s significant impact on Nollywood and his contributions to comedy in Nigeria.
