Nollywood veteran Kanayo O. Kanayo believes Nigeria will start progressing significantly when an Igbo person becomes president.

Speaking on ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Kanayo criticized the exclusion of Igbos from the presidency, attributing it to unfounded “Igbophobia.” He praised the industrious nature of the Igbo people, known for their business success and resilience, and argued that their contributions are often met with envy and misunderstanding.

Kanayo called for the abolition of state of origin in Nigeria to foster unity and merit-based opportunities. He emphasized that the fear of Igbo secession is baseless, as Igbos are deeply integrated into communities across Nigeria. He concluded that an Igbo presidency would reveal Nigeria’s true economic potential and lead to nationwide prosperity.
