The Presidency has responded sharply to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s seemingly mocking sympathy towards President Bola Tinubu, who tripped and fell during the Democracy Day celebration at Eagle Square.

Tinubu’s fall occurred as he climbed a vehicle to review the parade. Atiku posted the incident’s viral video on Twitter with a sympathetic caption: “I sincerely sympathise with President Bola Tinubu, over this unfortunate incident as he was set to review the parade on Democracy Day.”

In a pointed rebuttal, Presidential aide Segun Dada tweeted a crying video of Atiku, with the remark: “Better to fall briefly and rise than to be falling consistently in trying to be president since 1992 but still won’t quit.
