The Federal Government is taking decisive steps to combat rising food prices by proposing the establishment of a National Commodity Board.

This board aims to assess and regulate food prices while maintaining strategic reserves to stabilize costs. Vice President Kashim Shettima, speaking at a high-level meeting on climate change and food systems, emphasized the urgency of addressing potential food crises through immediate, medium, and long-term strategies.

These include revitalizing food supply chains, restoring degraded lands, and ensuring security for farmers.The government’s proactive approach signals a commitment to alleviating hardship and ensuring food security for all.
